Major epidemics of enterically transmitted non-A, non-B
hepatitis have been found to occur in developing regions such as
Asia, the former Soviet Union, Central America and Africa. Sporadic
cases have also been reported in developed nations, including
Australia, the United Kingdom and the US. Cases in developed nations
have generally been associated with travel to endemic regions. The
Genelabs Diagnostics® HEV IgG and IgM ELISAs utilize
recombinant HEV antigens from the structural region of the viral
genome to detect the presence of Hev antibodies. The HEV ELISAs are
enzyme-linked immunoassays intended for the detection of Hepatitis E
Virus in human serum or plasma. The assays are intended for research
use only.
The SARS
ELISA is an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay intended for IgG
antibodies to Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome coronavirus
(SARS-CoV) in human serum or plasma specimens.HEV IgG and IgM ELISAs
and SARS ELISA are manufactured by Genelabs Diagnostics®
and are distributed exclusively in the U.S. and Caribbean by
ZeptoMetrix Corporation.
