CONTAIN™ Equipment Protection Filters

Core Application: Suction & Vacuum Protection
Definition: In accordance with the U.S. Occupational Safety
and Health Administration's Bloodborne Pathogen Standard, all
potentially infectious materials (e.g., human blood and other bodily
fluids) must be confined, isolated and disposed of properly to prevent
healthcare staff exposure. In removing such materials,
suction/vacuum/aspiration pumps are sometimes contaminated by blood
and/or other bodily fluids rendering the equipment unusable.
Requirements: For this application, CONTAIN™ filters combine
hydrophobicity with a high flow rate and the capability to retain small
particles in air and gas streams.
Benefits: CONTAIN™ filtration solutions effectively prevent or

patients and healthcare staff from biohazardous aerosols, liquids and
