Indo-1, AM ester |
|
Description:
Indo-1,AMM ester is membrane-permeant and thus can be loaded
into cells via incubation. Because of the relatively low
water solubility of the AM ester, Pluronic F-127 (See
59000 and
refs. Therein), a mild detergent, is often used as a
dispersing agent to facilitate the loading.Indo-1/AM itself
does not bind Ca 2+, but it is readily hydrolyzed
to indo-1 by endogenous esterases once the dye is inside the
cells.
- Light yellow solid soluble in DMSO.
- Keep frozen at -20°C.Protect from light, especially
when in solution.
- C47H51N3O22
- Mwt: 1010.
- [112926-02-0].

Pluronic F-127 (free sample
per order of AM esters) |
|
Description:
Nonionic detergent useful for solubilizing large dye
molecules such as Fura-2/AM, Fluo-3/AM, Indo-1/AM and
Rhod-2/AM to facilitate cell loading. Pluronic F-127 is
usually dissolved in DMSO or water by gentle heating.
Pluronic F-127 is a registered trade mark of BASF.

EDC (EDAC;
1-(3-dimethylaminopropyl-3-ethylcarbodiimide, hydrochloride)) |
|
Description:
EDC (or EDAC) has recently been found to be very useful for
fixing in situ chelators, including the fluorescent
ion indicators in this catalogue. The fixation of ion
indicators makes it useful for post histological studies
following the physiological experiments. EDC is also a
widely used reagent to activate carboxy groups for amine
couplings.
- White solid soluble in water.
- Store desiccated at -20°C.
- C8H18ClN3.
- Mwt: 191.7.

TPEN (Full name:
tetrakis-(2-pyridylmethyl)ethylenediamine) |
|
Description:
TPEN is an excellent heavy metal chelator while it does not
affect Ca ++, Mg ++ , Na + or
K + concentrations. Thus, TPEN is a useful tool to
identify effects of heavy metals (Zn ++, Fe ++/Fe +++,
Cu ++, and Mn ++, etc.) on fluorescent
indicators of Ca ++, Mg ++ ,Na +
and K +.
