Catelog Number :
    50033
Product Name :
    Fura-2, AM ester

Description:

Fura-2,AM ester is membrane-permeant and thus can be loaded into cells via incubation. Because of the relatively low water solubility of the AM ester, Pluronic F-127 (See 59000 and refs. Therein), a mild detergent, is often used as a dispersing agent to facilitate the loading. Fura-2/AM itself does not bind Ca2+, but it is readily hydrolyzed to Fura-2 by endogenous esterases once the dye is inside the cells.
  • Light yellow solid soluble in DMSO.
  • Store at -20°C and protect from light, especially when in solution.
  • C44H47N3O24.
  • Mwt: 1001.9.
  • [108964-32-5].
For other information on Fura-2, see 50030.

Product Name :
Furaptra, tetrapotassium salt (also known as Mag-Fura-2, tetrapotassium salt)

Description:

Mag-Fura-2 is a UV-excitable fluorescent indicator for magnesium with a Kd of 1.9 mM.1,2 Similar to Fura-2, the excitation wavelength of Mag-Fura-2 undergoes a blue shift from 369 nm to 330 nm. Mag-Fura-2 also responds to Ca2+ but with a significantly lower Kd than Fura-2 to Ca2+. An important application of Mag-Fura-2 is its use in detecting high, transient Ca2+ concentration during Ca2+ spikes.3,4 Mag-Fura-2/tetraammonium salt can be loaded into cells by microinjection or scrape loading.
