Fura-2, AM ester |
|
Description:
Fura-2,AM ester is membrane-permeant and thus can be loaded
into cells via incubation. Because of the relatively low
water solubility of the AM ester, Pluronic F-127 (See
59000 and refs. Therein), a mild
detergent, is often used as a dispersing agent to facilitate
the loading. Fura-2/AM itself does not bind Ca 2+,
but it is readily hydrolyzed to Fura-2 by endogenous
esterases once the dye is inside the cells.
- Light yellow solid soluble in DMSO.
- Store at -20°C and protect from light, especially
when in solution.
- C44H47N3O24.
- Mwt: 1001.9.
- [108964-32-5].

Furaptra, tetrapotassium
salt (also known as Mag-Fura-2, tetrapotassium salt) |
|
Description:
Mag-Fura-2 is a UV-excitable fluorescent indicator for
magnesium with a K d of 1.9 mM. 1,2
Similar to Fura-2, the excitation wavelength of Mag-Fura-2
undergoes a blue shift from 369 nm to 330 nm. Mag-Fura-2
also responds to Ca 2+ but with a significantly
lower K d than Fura-2 to Ca 2+. An
important application of Mag-Fura-2 is its use in detecting
high, transient Ca 2+ concentration during Ca 2+
spikes. 3,4 Mag-Fura-2/tetraammonium salt can be
loaded into cells by microinjection or scrape loading.
Light yellow solid soluble in water (pH
> 6). Store at -20°C and protect from light.

|
Description:
|
Bis-Fura-2, hexapotassium salt is membrane-impermeant
derivative of membrane-permeant calcium indicator Fura-2, AM

EDC (EDAC;
1-(3-dimethylaminopropyl-3-ethylcarbodiimide, hydrochloride)) |
|
Description:
EDC (or EDAC) has recently been found to be very useful for
fixing in situ chelators, including the fluorescent
ion indicators in this catalogue. The fixation of ion
indicators makes it useful for post histological studies
following the physiological experiments. EDC is also a
widely used reagent to activate carboxy groups for amine
couplings.

TPEN (Full name:
tetrakis-(2-pyridylmethyl)ethylenediamine) |

Description:
TPEN is an excellent heavy metal chelator while it does not
affect Ca ++, Mg ++ , Na + or
