| Description: |
Acidic FGF is a mitogen for cells of
mesodermal and neuroectodermal origin, including
fibroblasts, endothelial cells, astrocytes, neuroblasts,
osteoblasts, and smooth muscle cells. This protein is
composed of 140 amino acid residues, and has a 55%
homology with basic FGF, including two conserved
cysteine residues.
Human Acidic FGF is produced by genetically
engineered yeast, and purified by heparin-Sepharose
affinity chromatography.

| Molecular Weight: |
15.5 KDa |
| Biological Activity: |
Human acidic FGF is mitogenic for a
variety of normal cells in culture including
fibroblasts, glial cells, vascular endothelial cells.
