Low Cross Reactivity to other Eicosanoids
Leukotriene B4 (LTB4) is a major product of
arachidonic acid metabolism formed via the 5-lipoxygenase pathway.
Leukotriene B4 stimulates leukocyte functions including
lysosomal enzyme release, adhesion and aggregation of polymorphonuclear
leukocytes. A potent mediator of inflammatory diseases and
immunoregulation, Leukotriene B4 also increases the cytotoxic
activity of human natural killer cells. Elevated levels of Leukotriene B4
are associated with bronchial vasoconstriction and increased
intracellular calcium levels.
1. Pipet Standards and Samples in duplicate into the wells.
2. Pipet the blue Alkaline Phosphatase Conjugate followed by the yellow
Antibody into the wells and incubate.
3. Aspirate and wash the plate.
4. Pipet Substrate into the wells and incubate.
5. EIA: Pipet Stop Solution and read on a plate reader at 405 nm.
CLIA: Read in a suitable luminometer or luminescence detector.
6. Calculate sample concentrations from Standard Curve.
