The c-Jun N-terminal protein kinase (JNK1) mitogen-activated protein
kinases (MAP
Kinases) are an evolutionarily-conserved family of serine/threonine
protein kinases. JNK1 is also known as stress-activated protein kinase (SAPK).
Protein kinases act in a signaling system by which cells transduce
extracellular stimuli into intracellular responses. Activation of JNK1
occurs by phosphorylation at Thr183 and Tyr185 by SEK/MKK4. These
stimuli include UV radiation, inflammatory cytokines, osmotic stress and
sheer stress. JNK1, when active, can translocate to the nucleus where it
regulates transcription through its effects on c-Jun, ATF-2 and other
transcription factors.

4. Aspirate and wash the plate.
5. Pipet Conjugate into the wells and incubate.
6. Aspirate and wash the plate.
7. Pipet Substrate into the wells and incubate.
8. Pipet Stop Solution and read on a plate reader at 450 nm.
9. Calculate sample concentrations from Standard Curve.
